Christmas wreath-making has become hugely popular over the last few years. Always fun to make, with mince pies and fizz often included, they&#8217;re also good value when you think that a self-made wreath with a well trained florist can last you up to several months with a little love and care.

Chelsea Flower Show award-winning florist Kathryn Cronin from Fierce Blooms is visiting Wernog Wood for a one-off Christmas wreath workshops in December (cue, stapede). You can choose from a fresh winter wreath class for £95, or a dry option for £125, with both classes including flowers and foliage from Kathryn&#8217;s cutting garden.

The Orangery of Llandough Castle, just outside Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan, is the elegant backdrop for a clutch of Christmas wreath-making courses with Wild &amp; Fabulous flowers. Owner Rhian Rees worked as a landscape designer for 16 years before moving full time into floristry, so she has stacks of experience and a great reputation locally,. Expect the course to be around two hours, and give yourself some time at the end to check out the pop-up shop too.
